Ethnic Vocal Workshop with Tri Utami Sari

In the framework of the International Djogja Earthsounds Fest 2024 event themed a harmony of sound and nature, The Department of Ethnomusicology, Faculty of Performing Arts, Institut Seni Indonesia Yogyakarta organized a Vocal Ethnic Workshop with guest speaker Tri Utami Sari. Trie Utami Sari is an Indonesian singer and songwriter of Javanese and Sundanese descent. She is the vocalist of the legendary Indonesian jazz music group, Krakatau. Before joining Krakatau, she was the former vocalist of the music group Kahitna. This workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to learn directly from Tri Utami, who is known for her strong vocal technique and long experience in the music world. In this session, she will discuss various important aspects of singing, such as breathing techniques, pitch control, mastering emotions in songs, as well as how to maintain voice quality.
